Curriculum

The Ford PAS curriculum links classroom learning with the challenges students will face in postsecondary education and the workplace of the future. The curriculum integrates academically rigorous, standards-based content with realistic applications in areas such as design and product development, information systems, environmental sustainability, global economics, business planning, personal finance, and marketing.

The 20 modules that make up the Ford PAS curriculum are organized into seven themes:

Foundations in 21st-Century Skills
Working Toward Sustainability
Getting Smart About Business
Manufacturing for Tomorrow
Data, Decisions, and Design
Living in a Global Economy
Putting Math to Work

Some modules are more suitable than others for integration into existing academic courses. While all modules teach academic content, several are fully interdisciplinary and dont focus on a particular academic discipline. Professional Learning Opportunities

For Teachers:

Ford PAS offers online forums for Ford PAS teachers to communicate with one another, share curriculum resources and strategies, ask questions, offer ideas, and request help from technical assistance professionals.
Professional development institutes and online courses offer teachers the opportunity to explore in depth the Ford PAS approach to teaching and learning by focusing on effective tools and strategies for implementing inquiry-, project-, and team-based approaches in the classroom. These courses are appropriate for high school teachers of all subject areas.

For Current and Potential Ford PAS Participants:

The annual Ford PAS Networking Conference brings together teachers, coordinators, administrators, college, university, community, and business partners to share what they are learning, network with colleagues, meet Ford PAS students, and learn about new resources
Ford PAS Technical Assistance staff consult with those interested in implementing the program and can offer informational sessions, introductory workshops, and professional development institutes.
