General Technical Help

To save files to your computer:

You will be able to tell what kind of file you are downloading by looking at the extension at the end of the name: .doc (Word), .ppt and .pps (PowerPoint), .mdb (Access), .pdf (Adobe Reader), or .xls (Excel). Links to Web resources will not have an extension in the title. To save files, right-click on the link and choose "Save target as..." from the drop-down menu. Save your files in a location where you can reach them.

Excel files

If you have a recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, you should be able to click on the link and open the spreadsheet in your browser. If not, save the files to your computer's hard drive and open the spreadsheets in Excel.

Secure Teacher-Only Files

Teacher Guide PDFs, and other Answer files are secured.

  1. Click on the link required below and select "Save to your computer". Or you may right click on the link required below and select "Save Target As...".
  2. Rename this file (called "doc_secure") appropriately (for example, "Module1_teacher") and save as type "Adobe Acrobat Document" or "All files" to your desktop.
  3. Then, on your desktop, open this new file with Adobe Reader/Acrobat. If necessary, resave the file as type PDF so that Adobe Reader may automatically open the file next time.
