Articulation Agreements
Session Description: Are you interested in developing agreements with a local college or university to provide college credit for students who complete Ford PAS courses? Are you unclear about the process for establishing such articulation agreements? Panelists from high schools and postsecondary institutions describe the steps they went through to put articulation agreements in place, the kinds of obstacles they encountered and how they overcame them, and the types of documentation that are needed. Although colleges and universities differ in their requirements, this workshop will familiarize you with the basic steps involved and help you learn where and how to start.

Creating and Maintaining a Business/Education Advisory Council (BEAC)
Session Description: What is a BEAC? How do you go about creating a BEAC and keeping it active? Even if you’ve never worked with businesses, colleges, or community groups before, this workshop will help get you started. Experienced BEAC coordinators and members share their experiences and offer advice on how to identify and involve resourceful members of the community to assist Ford PAS programs. Panelists answer your questions and acquaint you with the BEAC resource materials available on the Ford PAS Web site.

Evaluating Ford PAS Nationally and Locally
Session Description: How is Ford PAS most effectively implemented? What outcomes do students achieve after completing Ford PAS? This session introduces you to CNA Corporation, the firm conducting the implementation and outcomes evaluation of Ford PAS. CNAC staff explain the planned stages and aspects of the evaluation, solicit your input on the evaluation tools you would find useful and the information you want to know about your program, and discuss how to incorporate tools developed for the national evaluation into your internal evaluation efforts.

Overview of Ford PAS
Session Description: What is Ford PAS? A curriculum? A program? A partnership between business, higher education, and schools? Actually, it’s all of these–and more. This presentation provides an overview of Ford PAS that will broaden your understanding of the curriculum, the ideas about teaching and learning that informed its development, the content areas addressed, and the skills that students develop. The presenters explain who the various Ford PAS partners are and how they support the program, and preview the resources available to partners and program sites.
Fundraising for Ford PAS
Session Description: Are you thinking of having a car wash to raise money for your Ford PAS program? What about a bake sale? This workshop will have you thinking again and thinking big. You’ll hear from people who’ve raised funds by writing grant proposals and getting sponsorship from businesses. You’ll learn where to find information about grants and how to develop a timeline for fundraising that takes into account a number of different fundraising tactics, including recruiting a fundraising expert to become part of your BEAC.
